You didn't say what engine is in your car, but my experience with Edelbrock carbs is that they are set a little too lean at the factory. Your best bet is to get the tuning kit from someplace like Summit and a pack of airhorn gaskets. The kit has all the springs, rods and jets to tune the carb. Then just start experimenting. The booklet you got with the carb will instruct you how to change the combinations to get it tuned correctly. I would start by going one stage rich on the primaries, and possibly going to stronger springs. It will take some time, but when you get the right combo, you will know it.
