Baron, you're right about the tranny dates: They were stamped for the year of vehicle rather than the date of manufacture. It's amazing how early some parts were made. One really notices this dealing with '70 model cars.
This is like someone opening a treasure chest and all his buddies standing around to ogle what's inside.
