The low beam has 2 filiments in it, when you turn the high beams on it goes to the high beam filiment in your low beam. The high beam filiment is burned out thats why the light goes out. You need to repleace the low beam on that side then it will come on, you don't have a ground problem. The high beam only has 1 filiment & is there for high beams only. Replace the bulb on that side & you'll be done.
