Good to hear from you Steve. We always liked the idea of an aluminum block but the water jacketed version just didn't look like it had enough cross-section in several critical areas. A billet block would have been great but our budget and time frame just wouldn't allow it. When the possibility of an enhanced IA block, poured without water jacket cores, and the heat treat and then later the HIP process, that put us over the top. It's still a casting, but a really nice one, poured by the same foundry who casts Donovan blocks. Lots of experience there. Really hope it works out for us and it even "Looks like a Pontiac". That's a subtle but important bonus to us. Still can use the Moon Pontiac timing cover, a Pontiac valley cover, Pontiac valve covers , head bolts, lifters, bore centers in stock locations.
