I like the styling and look of the '66 a little better, but the mechanical improvements of the '67 make it the better car, as others have stated. I love the taillights, decklid, and grills better on the '66. I like the dual master cylinder, the available disc brakes, the TH400, the His/Hers shifter, the improved head design, and wider wheel and tire selection of the '67. Although it isn't very hard to update a '66 with '67 style mechanical and safety items. I easily made these modifications on my '66 Tempest Custom wagon, and If I had a '66 GTO, I would install front discs, dual master, and if it was an automatic, The TH400 in it as well.
