Something closer to topic then, if completely stock is what we are comparing, My 70 Formula is pure stock legal, and not pushing the rules for compression or camshaft, and has went 13.60's on it's stock tires (1.8x 60 foot times if the track is half way decent) With it's 3890 race weight it works well.

It's looking good that that come Feb at the Pontiac drags it will go even quicker. There weren't any cars from the 80's, or even the late 70's that would run that well in stock form, not even the GN's. The only car a hair quicker was the 89 turbo TA but they were so few and far between they hardly count.

Hung with a couple guys that ran those GN's religiously up through the 1990's and 2000's, lived near Lonnie's shop that worked on them all the time so GN's were everywhere around town.. Unless they were running around on the street with a drag radial they weren't too much of a threat. Didn't take too much tinkering though to make them fast. Crank up the boost, a few mods, a Lonnie trans with a brake and a good tire and they were pretty quick. Buddy of mine had one he drove daily modded similar and running 11.50's on a little 235/60 drag radial. Fiscus lived close and drove his 8 second GN on the street fairly often.
