I have found that there was metal Valences made and plenty found as NOS parts units that only fit the capsule and Not the 69-early 72 style metal housings.
Are your clear "lenses" the older style or the new "capsule style" ? If Capsule style your front wiring harness is much different as it has a Bulb holder in it, where the older has a connector only to the back of the metal housing.
November, and into Dec was a when those changes occurred, Mirror and front harness and lights , Valences.
I do know that last week DEC '71 had the new harness with socket and Clear Capsule. Still had old school Brake light only as well.
Its interesting that 3 different front Parking/ turn lights were made in the '72 model year.
I should get some lights and try fitments again. I have done this in past but do not have pics.
