Car rusting in the Garage? I have seen this. One I saw is a '68 get pretty rusty in a buddies garage. Why?
I dug most of the foundation for this garage when we built it. and it was WET ledge mostly. Had to get a small excavator to finish one corner.
After the foundation was poured and walls went up, I leveled and back dragged inside. he also compacted it and had it poured the same summer.
In the summer the floor SWEATS in some places. put hand on it and its wet. Add some heat and that water evaporates and goes Under his car and is trapped, where
those valence Oxygen molecules go to work on the Iron ( FE02)
Since then I look for dark spots and have seen many like this in New England. Guys with lefts have much less problems with this, but its still humid.
