This is not to say the bearings would have not looked the same given any other name brand filter... but I do like the HP feature of a screened bypass valve. You still have the benefit of the bypass (if factory is eliminated), which will at least keep any big chunks out if needed.
With that said, I do feel many of these things just make us owners feel better, and the average hobbiest engine does not really care.

Did you eliminate your factory by pass ?
Its good to know that they make a stock type by pass filter. Kind of like the old HO recommended Lee filter. Thanks for posting.
What is the part number for the Fram Racing Pontiac filter you run ?
