On a related note, I had heard a while back of a later 70's TA that had different decals on each side of the shaker!
We had jigs for all emblems and decals that did not have hard point locators (pins) on the assembly line at Lordstown for the Vegas, Astres, Monzas, Starfires, J2000s and Skyhawks while I worked there. They were typically made from non-marring HDPE or nylon so they could rest against the painted panel without scratching the paint. The one for that Ram Air decal would have located off the front of the snorkel and provided both the vertical start point and a level horizontal surface to line the decal up with.
