Yes it pulls out straight. One other thing, most of these cars in that time era used the one on the fuse panel for 4 ways. The turn signal flasher is usually in the wiring snarl around the steering column after you get the lower dash panel off, they hide it in that area on a pigtail 2 prong plug. Sometimes it snaps into a bracket, but usually it just hangs there.

I had a 73 T/A but it's been so long I can't recall exactly where it is, but I gave you the general area that many GM cars used of that era. Hopefully this helps.
