File this under "better late than never"! Finally posting some pics of the completed project on the trunk end of the '71 TA. Chose the Ames weatherstrip due to its being the closest in size/appearance to the original. It's a bit firmer than the latex coated GM part, but the lid still closes pretty well. No harsh slam needed, just a firm push.
Decided to use a repro mat even though my factory piece is intact. Just too worn looking to install with everything else being freshened.
BTW, criticisms welcomed for "incorrectness". We can talk about it.
