My in laws actually ordered a 1982 Regal new with a 4.1 because it had more power than the 3.8 and had better fuel economy rating than the V8. They actually used it to tow a 18' boat. It had a Q jet and the 3.8 had a 2 bbl. They later ordered a 1986 Grand Prix LE with a 305 VIN H. It was much better suited to towing the boat.
