Bej: According to the dealer sales catalog, Safe-T-Track is listed as an available "Safety" option as opposed to a "Performance" option. According to my '65 Pontiac Chassis Shop Manual, Rear Axle section 4, page 5, the rear axle chart shows the following standard releases for a 421 H.O. Tri-Power equipped Catalina 2 + 2 Coupe or Convertible: 3.08 (E) with Hydramatic and Air Conditioning. 3.23 (F) for Hydramatic w/o Air Conditioning. 3.23 (F) with 3 or 4 speed Synchromesh and Air Conditioning. 3.42 (G) with 3 or 4 speed Synchromesh with or without Air Conditioning.
A 3.55 (H) was a special order with any transmission without Air Conditioning. 3.73 (J) and 4.11 (L) were also special order ratios.
