True, the Ames information has it “backwards” on the N142AK fuel filter bracket.
This (not user friendly) bracket was factory installed on at least the First 6 months of ‘67 production.
I did a lot of research on this PITA bracket 30+ years ago.
I discovered from owning and viewing Original ‘67 GTO’s that this fuel filter bracket was a mid-year change.
Some factory’s may differ by a month?
I always referred to those early builds as the (3 line) set-up.
1) Main fuel line from pump to filter inlet.
2) Vapor return line.
3) Short hook line, filter outlet to carb.
Sometime after the mid-year mark Pontiac switched to the single fuel line for the Q-jet which continued for several more years.
Here are a couple Survivors with their data plate dates and the (3 line) set-up.
The first car is missing it’s bracket.
The second car still has it’s bracket.
