Default '65 LeMans 326 2v Carb & AC Plumbing

Got it running yesterday.

What is the pot on the left for? Looks like Idle kick up?
I thought it was for AC but my '63 has this also and it does not have AC.

It looks like that's a broken electronic transmission kick down bolted to the rear driver side carb stud. Are replacements available?

AC clutch works when turning it on, but does not blow through vents,. I can hear the blower and feel air through defrost vents. I think as a default, air is routed to defrost when air lines have a leak, or no vacuum. Visibly, the car needs a new vacuum F fitting which will probably provide more vacuum to operate the vents.

I know they make these in metal now which is better than the original yellow plastic ones, prone to cracking.

Will pick up a factory Chassis and AC shop manual to sort some of this out.
I don't think there are any readable PDF versions posted online anywhere.
