What kind of squeegee do they give you? I've never applied Judge decals but I've applied a lot of them over the years to other things... Model airplanes mainly. I have found the best squeegee to be something very firm such as the edge of a credit card or even soft wood like the cheap yard sticks they give you in a hardware store or even better, balsa wood. Soft enough to conform to the curves of the surface but firm enough to really press down the actual decal surface.
I've used the soapy water method many times but only when it's an adhesive backed sticker. It does help to use a little heat while you are burnishing with the squeegee.
Also, l always start from the midpoint and work out in both directions as l go.
Just some thoughts.
