Default Coolant temperature sender for a car with rally gauges

Here is a photo of a '65 GTO with rally gauges. The original coolant temperature sender for a 65 GTO is the same GM part # as was used in the 70 GTO with rally gauges.

The original GM # is 546702 that number was later updated to 1513321.

Either one of those 2 #s would be an extremely rare sender to find today as an unused "NOS" part.

Beware of the most current "updated" number of this sender which is: 12334869.
About 15 or 16 years ago GM decided to amalgamate a bunch of their old coolant temperature senders (for older model GM cars with dash gauges) into one #.

Unfortunately even though the part comes in a box that says AC Delco on it that replacement sender will not give you a true reading on any older GM cars (1965 & up, all 1970s) up to 1978. That new sender will show a reading on the dial (assuming the gauge is working 100% ) approximately 25 to 30 degrees higher than actual.
