There was a pair earlier this summer on eBay, they have that ivory color and also somehow the lettering shape is 'right" in a way that it isn't with the repops. same situation with the 69-70 RA hood decals.

There was a thread a while back about the location of those quarter decals too, very informative.

I think the headpipes were black to save money, i guess they figured that upfront they got hot enough that condensation corrosion wasn't an issue. It was probably just cheap black paint that would burn off in a few thousand miles.

What I recall about those manual disc brakes was how much effort it took to get that last 2 mph to zero, the opposite of lock up prone drum brakes. In terms of stopping power they were excellent. That was the last year you could get manual disc brakes on any Pontiac and also the last year you could get manual drums on any performance Pontiac (GP, GTO, FB400).

I love your shade of Verdoro. I have two original paint 69 cars with verdoro and they are very different shades. My Ventura wagon was built in California and the Verdoro is very green, my Executive was built in KC and it's Verdoro is like yours with that very noticeable gold accent to it.
