Had an experience like that buying a used VW years back. They said I had to pay them $300 for the security system they already installed. I told ‘em “take it out - I’m not paying for it.” I sure didn’t pay for it. As I drove home, I noticed it was still there under the dash.
My first car was a Nissan. I’ve hated those crap boxes ever since.
As for negotiating - don’t ever go down from how much they will “give” you under MSRP. Find the invoice and argue about how much more you’ll give them over that.
