Getting a little off track, but in 1975 I went in to order a new 76 Trans Am at Thomas Pontiac in Daphne Alabama as soon as they started taking 76 orders. I wanted a Starlite Black TA and was told that black was not available. So I ordered a Firethorn Red with black interior 400 auto. Two months later Starlite Black paint was available and was I pissed. I have some AMA papers somewhere in the garage from that time period that states all of this. Early 76 colors that I remember were Cameo White, Sterling Silver, Goldenrod Yellow, Carousel Red and Firethorn Red. I don't remember a blue on a TA, but I do remember black was a late addition to the colors for 76 because I could not order it and they refused a special order. Some pics of the Firethorn I was forced to order with a rare silver bird, most were gold. Another of the black one I bought later.
