A long time (probably 20 years) I did some stealthing on some Edelbrock heads. I filled the embossed areas with JB Weld, then filed it down smooth. Then I chucked a 6" sanding disc in a drill, and added some "machine" marks on the ends.

I also welded 1/4" bolts to a few of the head bolts. I then modified the stock heat shields to fit over the headers, and installed them on the "studded" head bolts. The headers were coated black, so you had to really look to notice them under the shields.
