I had an original pad for my car but bought one of the "Gm Restoration certified" pad for the wife's car. They fit ok and look nice but are nothing more than a big hunk of formed urethane. If you are doing a "correct" restoration or you want the perfect pad, I would either try and find one or if you have one but its needs recovered, I 'd seriously consider doing that.
