EXCELLENT info! thanks for the help. i don't think any of the check engine lights are on, but i will take a hard look for any smell of fuel, and other items you mention. i'll let you know how it goes.

is it normal for pressure regulator to go bad, and is it a tough fix? seems like a bad regulator would make AFR go whacky and would light up the check engine light. have you seen the regulator go bad without the light?
