Default Kobalt Recall

I just registered my 40v 12" chainsaw & 40v 8" pole saw at the Kobalt recall center.

The lady said they'd just send out a new body for each saw, & all I'd have to do is swap my bar & chain over to the new units.

Haven't had any problem with either saw. Used the chainsaw some yesterday. Worked great.

Noticed that Lowes no longer sells a Kobalt 40v 12" chainsaw. I suppose they've replaced it with the 14" brushless model. I thought about buying one, without a batt. But, they're $150 + tax. And, they don't have a brake.

I'm doing a LOT of research on cordless chainsaws. Watching videos & reading reviews, by pros & owners.

Wanna get something with a bit more power than my 12". I'll save the 18" Kobalt for big stuff, & let TJ use the 12". Need a medium power model for stuff up to maybe 12" or so.

So far, the cheapest one I'm considering is the WEN 16". With batt/charger, it's about $160 + Tax.

The most expensive one I'm considering is an Echo 58v.

Really looking close at the EGO CS1401. Have read that the EGO batts are supposed to be better than most others. Don't know.
