My 14" EGO is Gen2 with 2.5Ah battery.
The battery MFG. date is July 2020 and it does have a "fuel gauge" built into it.
The 24" EGO Hedger i got also came with a 2.5Ah battery
But it's battery is MFG. date June 2020 - and it DOESN'T have a "fuel gauge".
I agree with the guy in the video that a fuel gauge is really beneficial.
So if anyone is looking at EGO equipment - check the battery date to be July 2020 or newer. Or - just push the power check button on the end of the battery - if only the power button illuminates - it Does Not have a fuel gauge.
The fuel gauge battery has 5 other LED's surrounding the power check button - and 1 or more of the surrounding indicators will illuminate when you push the power button.
Already worked a deal where they are swapping me a new design 5Ah battery for the old design battery.
The 16" and 18" saws are all Gen2 and automatically come with a 5Ah battery , with fuel gauge.
The 14" Saw and 24" Hedger is where you really need to check which battery is in the box.
