I have been using fluid film for about 5 years or so. It works. Have to apply every year. For my truck, I remove the rear lights and spray inside the fenders, inside the rockers, inside the doors, and everything, and I mean everything underneath except the brake rotors. I have a 2016 Dodge in NY, and your hard pressed to find even surface rust on bolt heads on the underside. I use about a gallon on my truck to sart out and I did invest in the spray tools. I use the wand with the hole on the end only. After a few years there is a grime coating of flid film and dirt, I just keep spraying over that and do not wash it off. Even my hitch is rust free and they generally rust in one year. Definately works.
