What caught my eye in this thread was the alternator “date code”.

Just so happens it’s exactly what mine is. 1100729 dated 4J15 = Sept. 15, 1964.

My alternator was Original to the car when I purchased it.
The entire car (11A) was assembled with Aug. Sept. of 64 components.

Later in 1965 the 37 amp alternator was 1100704.

The nation wide GM strike was Sept. 25 through Oct.25.

I feel certain my car had already been close to complete, but probably was held up with the final inspection because of this strike.
