I think it depends on what you find when you open it up and what your goals are for the engine in the Omega. The Kanter / Egge kits have there supporters and detractors, I've never used one. One thing for certain, do you have access to a good machine shop? The way an engine is machined is as important as the parts the go inside of course.

I think your project is really cool, hope it works out good for you.
