Try a different make solenoid.. That’s what solve the problem for me in my tractor. The first two were the same make. Doing the same as your solenoid. I put the old one back in and no problem. Only thing, it was hit and miss if it would engage, so I knew the problem was in the solenoid’s that I bought. I was able to find a NOS,, and it has been problem free for over a year.
