I experienced a 041 389 combo once in a 1966 GTO 4 speed with 4:11 gears. Was a blast to drive, .... stock converter automatic 2 something gears ?
Probably not so good,
Your your going to NEED to learn carb calibration to even get close to acceptable driving manners
Iam not talking just idle screws and speed
