Say what you want. I've been at Mecum. As the OP said, some cars go for astronomical prices and some are bargains. I know people who go to car auctions who decide they're buying a certain car before the bidding starts. That's every buyer's dream, but it happens.
Don't you think it's time to accept the fact that these auctions are real? The amount paid by the winner of auctions for our Pontiacs gives us some idea of the value of those we already own. If we decide to sell, higher prices are a boon to us. I don't understand the animosity of some on this board who look at Mecum and Barrett-Jackson as an enemy of our hobby.
