I've had a few claims over the years and wasn't punished for them.
I had a cpvc pipe crack in the winter (frozen pipe) on a policy I had held for 16 years. The damage to the house was Approx. 10K. I had a 1k deductible, the insurance company would not renew my policy the next year. I paid them about $1400.00 per year for 16 years and they dropped me for a 9k expense. It does happen sometimes. Insurance is a funky business.
