I picked up an NOS pump the other day & went through it to clean it up, inspect it and to de-burr everything . Attached are a couple of photos.
The first shows some high spots that I took down with a very fine stone. Interesting, an example of blurbs that are highlighted..
The second shows a spiral like cut on the bottom of the driven gear. My guess is that this is not an accident but a grove to help keep the bottom of the gear lubed?
