I also have DMH Cut outs, with over 18 years with no major problems.
Only issue I had was carbon build up on the butterfly's edge. My car ran rich for a few years until I learned how to tune my carburetors.
I solve the issue with a good cleaning and then a light coat of anti-seize on the edge of the mating surfaces. Every couple of years I give them a new coat and have not had any problems since.
