Default Phone call last night from a guy I haven't talked to in 40yrs

Jim Miller is his name. He moved from Penn Hills,Pgh to Florida for better work. I first met Jim about 1969-70. I heard he raced Pontiacs. His specialty was dirt track cars. He was the main reason I acquired my 74 SD TA.He worked at Constantin Pontiac till he got job at Pittsburgh International Airport, then to Florida .I traded parts with him,a 4 bolt 428, a WW 1970 IV block std bore, a few of trades. When I first saw a set of V heads at Fred Davission s house I told Jim. He got 1 set w intake that was the basis for an small journal stroker that would lap the rest of the field of other brands. He was torn down once to check main journal size.'They' thought it should be 3.250.It wasnt,'THEY' were NOT happy.Sooo next year the Pontiacs were limited to 377 cu in. Not other brands. He cut the roof off of a uugh 64 4spd tripower GTO! He had a 70 silver Judge, that was a original 4spd IV car.I rode in it.He took out engine to go into dirt track car.Later sold car.He also built a 303 with a cut up chebie tunnel ram for Phil Cralle s 61 Cat,then 70 F body.I was there a watched him cut and fit manifold.Wish I could fine pic of Phils blue,Jeff Stoners red,and my blue SD s all 74s in his driveway. We use to cruise together.Jims house was a place for Pontiac enthusiasts. His wife was gracious. We were talking the other stories,so many. I just touched on highlights. He has a few things he wants to sell. All the big stuff is long gone. Those were the days!!!! Just wanted to share.
