Traction is what is holding you back. The mph should easily run mid 13s. I did so with my 67 GTO running in the NMCA Stock ET class back in 95. It ran 13.60s to 13.50s at 98 mph. I had the suspension set up so that the car would almost lift a wheel off the ground. I was sponsored by BFG and ran their drag radials. Some basic suspension mods and tricks allowed the car to hook very hard. I actually broke a ring gear spacer, side gear, and split a non posi case with a mini spool in it. Engine was basically a stock 400 HO. It was all in the gearing, convertor, tuning, and suspension. Car was heavy and weighed 3,960 with me in it race ready. I won the class that year with it!
