Hits 600 HP @ 5400 RPM and continues to climb.

Induction flowing 300 ish isn't going to do it.
I haven't seen it with a Pontiac either but have with other brands, if we are talking about pump gas. I did 600hp with a 460 BBC using a 242/248 cam and an excellent set of AFR heads.
I've never been able to do that with a 455 Pontiac, even some more rambunctious Pontiacs with a 254/262 cam and 330 cfm conventional Eddy heads. They'll make a crap load of torque though.
