We had a 73 LeMans very similar to this car purchased used in the early 80's. An Iowa car, it was starting to rust in similar locations as this one. Took it to a bodyman to have them repair the rust / repaint. They told us that it couldn't be saved based on the design of the sheet metal, it trapped moisture / salt in all the wrong places. This one appears to be much worse shape than the one we had, both inner / outer rear quarter panels and trunk pan most likely need to be replaced.
Would be a great job for a skilled bodyman with a lot of spare time and patience to buy. Hope someone with these skills buys the car and restores it.
