I remember that on MASH TV show, back in the day when it was popular.
I think he used a ball point pen barrell though.
Hollywood likes to show this procedure in movies, which can be dangerous I remember from EMT training class years ago as one or more vocal cord nerves can be cut.
The movie "Switchback" with Danny Glover had one I remember seeing.
Stephen Hawkins (physics genius) had one that went bad, iirc.
I dont recall if his was an emergency trach or hospital procedure(?)
