I have a friend that has been doing collision repair for 12 years look at this for me. He said he could make it disappear but his main concern is where do I want him to stop since he can't weld to rust and the trunk is rusted out as well along with the wheelwells...

I did take the car to a restoration shop and basically they quoted me $20k to get the car acid dipped, replace all the metal that needs replacing, and e-coat the whole car. No body or paint work here just metal replacement. At that point I didn't know what to do my car isn't worth that investment to me from a collectability stand point or for sentimental reasons. I kind of think they just didn't want to do the job honestly since it would take up so much time and space.

What I need to do is find someone who is retired who likes to do this kind of work and just let them have the car to work on at their leisure with a loose time deadline and pay them cash by the hour, I think...
