You're welcome. I agree that the ribbed hose isn't as pretty as the factory type of formed hose.
I'm wondering what the adapter you're considering looks like? Is it a metal adapter that fits over the radiator pipe with a reduced end on it?
I've used rubber adapter rings that fit over a smaller radiator pipe, so a larger diameter hose end will fit and seal to the smaller pipe. But of course, that method won't work trying to put a smaller hose over a larger diameter pipe.
