BMW does not build in large volumes like most other manufacturers, they are more of a niche brand. Every BMW my brother in law buys is always in need of some repair. I work for GM and we had one recall that only covered one vehicle. The more technology a car has especially when it is first introduced is always going to be a problem until it is perfected. Some cars are packed with so much new technology with all the electronics, it is scary when it starts to have problems. Most of my friends who drive BMW,Mercedes Benz, Land Rover and all of the other "luxury" brands seem to get rid of them before the warranty runs out. They complain about the high cost to service them. They don't mind the high cost to buy them but complain when they cost more than a Chevrolet or Ford to repair.
