The car does not have its original engine, which was just a standard 400 with 143 heads and a Carter AFB carb. Never was an HO car, so I agree that putting in a "correct" HO block is not really a determinant in future value.

The SR block I have is from a '68 Bonneville convertible that was an original HO 428 car. It has no markings on the front left of the block. Block was replaced in the early 70s. I have to check the date code again, but I think it was cast in '72. #16 heads and correct HO carb are still on it.
