428HO Update
Dan pulled the front end sheet metal off the car yesterday. The cowl is solid where a rust-belt car typically rots away...more testimony to the OO's great care to his baby. The lower fenders are gone, but the car came with solid front fenders. The bumper and valance are solid as in the front core support. The rest of the interior is coming out for a good cleaning. The original carpet is in decent shape and will hopefully be reused if it cleans up well.
The block and heads are getting cleaned and magged before heading to the machine shop. along with a new forged bottom end with flat top pistons that should net an actual 10.75:1 compression depending on deck height, head gasket thickness, etc. The goal is to keep it at the factory 10.75:1 rating. The original 068 cam looks great and will be reused. The motor will be dyno'd with the long branch exh. manifolds and 2.5" head pipes with the original Q-jet and points distributor to get close to a "net' horsepower rating.
Since the car is going back to its as delivered state, the 4.11's are going back in the rear end and with G70x15 Red Line Wide Ovals. Hopefully it'll be ready for the Pure Stock Drags next year (2018).
