They made several displacements for the 466 series: DT360, DT408, DT466, DT530 and now DT570. I think DT stood for "Diesel Turbo"
It started out as a farm tractor engine in 414 cid in the 1960's.
The 9.0 has some good points: easy to start when cold, and suprisingly decent fuel economy. If your friend sells that extra 9.0 tell him they are in high demand with the tractor pulling crowd.
