A new system that addresses this is in the final stages of development. Retail price point will be about $75 more expensive than the current system. The existing system will still be available for those that aren't all that concerned about having the muffler fully tuck up in the floor boards and would like to save the cash.
The F-body system should not need such an upgraded option. The x-pipe for that system runs very high utilizing the driveshaft tunnel and therefore the mufflers are tucked up very high.
