I bought a new seal for my 124 and found an on-line tutorial on how to do the job. I made a crude spring compressor out of some 2 by 4 and threaded rod. Took longer to make the compressor (about an hour and a half) than it took to overhaul the rifle (that took less than an hour). It's not a hard job. The new seals are synthetic and won't degrade like the originals. You will need to order some of the tar-like spring grease to apply to the spring for dampening purposes. Mine now shoots as good as ever, and I didn't have to worry about sending my mint 124 Deluxe across country. Check out the on-line information...it isn't rocket science.
