To solve the cracked plastic dash shell issue, one can order a new textured dash shell from LMC or other national vendors for under $300. This replaces the entire upper structure. My original dash top made it 18 years til it finally cracked. Parked indoors it would have lasted even longer. The task to swap to a late 2nd Gen dash in a '94-97 is much more involved than just replacing the upper shell. Imo, the later 2nd Gen dash has much better appearance & functionality. With all the mods that guys do to 2nd Gens, there have even been a few 3rd Gen dash into 2nd Gen deals... TON of work.
