With the '64, even the molded, thinner hood pad will rub on the Tripower air cleaners and scratch the chrome. This is true even with the steel retainer used on '64 only. I'd suggest you leave the hood pad off.
Speaking from experience with two '64's. I use old chrome air cleaner tops on mine when driving and change them to shiny ones at shows.
